The full joojoo specs include a 12.1" screen, a camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, and only a power button. It boots directly into a browser in 9 seconds, plays full screen accelerated 720p video, it plays offline content via USB, multi-tasks, and plays Flash. It runs on a 1.6GHz Atom N270 plus it has an NVIDIA Ion for the accelerated video.

The joojoo's philosophy is different in its design as a Web Consumption Device as opposed to running local apps, and it has a typical netbook PC inside as opposed to being a custom consumer electronics device.

History and Press

The joojoo was originally developed under the name CrunchPad but the partnership to develop the device fell apart. Fusion Garage continued to develop and release the device under the joojoo name in April 2010 in the United States. Pre-orders for Europe started in April for May delivery, and in May orders for Japan and Singapore were added.

The pre-shipping early press was excited but wary. The initial production press was generally negative in the US and generally positive in Europe. The joojoo was heavily compared to the iPad which was released at about the same time, where the joojoo was praised for having a camera, a true 720p screen, and for actually shipping, it was criticized for not having installable apps, having incomplete OS issues (somewhat fixed in later patches), not shipping with local storage playback (which was added in a later patch), not including 3G (a promised future version to be sold via wireless providers, but the 3G version never materialized), and having inferior battery life (4.5 hrs vs. 8 hrs).

The joojoo officially started shipping March 25th 2010 and sales were halted November 11th that same year after it "failed to meet the company's sales targets".
